Chuck was born in Monterey on September 2, 1955, one of five children of Charles Sr. and Rose Marie (Bruno) Della Sala. Chuck and his wife of 30 years, Sandy, live in the Deer Flats neighborhood where they raised their two children Alexandria, and Chas (Charles Della Sala, III).

Chuck was raised in the Del Monte Grove and Old Town neighborhoods of Monterey and attended local schools including Monterey High School and Monterey Peninsula College. Chuck graduated from Santa Clara University in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in business.

Chuck earned his Real Estate License in 1978 and joined his family’s business, where they pride themselves on outstanding customer service.

Chuck has been active in community service and community affairs most of his adult life. Some of the highlights of his community service activities include:

• Vice-Mayor, City of Monterey, 2006
• Council Member, City of Monterey since 2002
• President, Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce
• Recipient of the Robert C. Littlefield Award for outstanding contributions to the Chamber
• Recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Monterey Peninsula College, for noteworthy achievement in the fields of business, public policy and community service.
• Director, United Way of Monterey County
• Member, Monterey Rotary Club
• Member of the Monterey Sports Center Leadership Committee
• Member of the City of Monterey Planning Commission from 1992-2002; Chair 7/94-7/95
• President, Monterey PONY Baseball/Softball 1996-2002

Monterey is a special place to Chuck. He grew up here and he looks forward to watching his kids raise their families here. Chuck strives to maintain a delicate balance between our natural environment and a healthy economy.

Chuck has learned the value of teamwork and consensus building and has applied these skills in business, in community service activities and in community governmental activities. He contributed greatly to the revitalization of downtown Monterey and Jacks Park where the Bronco League World Series has been held since 1993.

Chuck makes his living as a businessman; he makes his life by giving back to his hometown.
